My Visual Diary, Spring 2020

Before we moved I picked up a new sketchbook with the intention of developing my observation skills and recording day to day life. I hadn't intended on using it to capture my life during the COVID-19 lockdown, however timing being timing, that is essentially what happened; I inadvertently created a visual diary of lockdown life behind the closed door of our terraced house in Bath.

Now that lockdown is lifting, I thought I would share with you some pages from my visual journal, which provide a little insight into life at home for me during the last couple of months.

For those of you interested in seeing the other pages (some better than others I admit), I have popped them into a short video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIRL-PqTCZ0 (I apologise for the blurry quality - my film editing skills are very much a work in progress!)

The drawings were done using a calligraphy pen holder with a Nikko G nib, Parker Quink fountain pen ink and Ecoline brush pens.
